About the position
As an assistive device technician in the service process, you work both in the field and in our facilities. You play a key role in ensuring that assistive devices function optimally for our users. The work involves close collaboration with colleagues, customers, and patients, where you contribute to high quality and service through your technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
You work with various types of assistive devices that make daily life possible for people with disabilities, such as wheelchairs (manual and electric), rollators, care beds, hoists, and other technical aids in the home. The work is practical and varied, encompassing both mechanics and simpler electronics, combining technical work with customer contact.
Your main tasks:
- Function checks and preventive maintenance of assistive devices
- Installation, adaptation, and repair
- Troubleshooting within mechanical and simpler electrical systems
- Inspection of assistive devices
- Documentation and administration in operational systems
- Technical advice during assembly

About the workplace
Assistive Devices in Uppsala County (HUL) is located at Palmbladsgatan 8 in Uppsala. We are a competence and resource center for advanced assistive device issues and are responsible for coordinating assistive devices throughout the county.
Here, you work together with a dedicated team of 6 people in the service group. We enable people with disabilities to perform important daily activities and live a more independent life.
Working hours: Monday–Friday, 07:30–16:00
(The work is performed primarily on-site, both in our facilities and in the field.)
We are looking for someone who has
Requirements:
- Upper secondary education
- Category B driver's license
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
Merits:
- Upper secondary education with a technical focus
- Experience in practical service, repair, or maintenance work, preferably with elements of troubleshooting in mechanics or electronics
- Experience working with medical technology products or related operations (e.g., care, social services, or assistive devices)
- Experience working with documentation in operational systems
